Loren's Top 10 Movies
1. Gilda (1946) |
I originally saw this film because I thought it would be a fluffy bio-pic about country singer Loretta Lynn. What I saw was a film done was one of the best biographical movies I've seen, with a wonderful performances from Sissy Spacek, Tommy Lee Jones and Beverly D'Angelo. Given the fact that most biopics try to revolve around some controversy, this film was executed with alot of love. Spacek and D'Angelo did a suberb job as they did their own singing in their roles as Lynn and Patsy Cline (respectively). The story, of course, tells the story of Loretta Lynn and how she rose from being the poor daughter of a Coal Miner to the wife of Doolittle Lynn (Jones) to being a country megastar. A charming film. 1980, Directed by Michael Apted
