E.R. (1994-present)
The best program on the air is E.R. In fact, it is the only show that I religiously watch. Created by best-selling author Michael Crichton, the show revolves around the staff of the Emergency Room of a Chicago County hospital.
I'm not much of a drama person and the reason why I started watching the program simply was because it was at

the tail end of NBC's Must See TV (when it really was Must See TV). But then, I found myself at the edge of my seat everytime they brought in a new patient with either something lodged in their heads or having some limb hanging loosely off their bodies. I thought...eww, gross...but gotta watch!
Aside from the "grossness," the show has a great balance between high-intensity drama, human drama and comedy. The cast is wonderful and the characters are well developed.
Sorry, Chicago Hope fans...There is absolutely no comparison to that other hospital drama on CBS. E.R. is simply the best...
