When the American Film Institute (AFI) released its list of 100 Greatest Films, people all over the country were talking. Several people didn't understand why certain choices were made. There was almost a fury about it, with people pointing fingers of the Institute being too "high brow" or "elitest." To me, what makes a great film is a film you want to see over and over again. It doesn't matter how simple or complex the film. So, the following represents my top ten list of favorite films. Loren's Top 10 Movies 1. Gilda (1946) 2. The Joy Luck Club (1993) 3. Swing Time (1936) 4. Stella Dallas (1937) 5. When Harry Met Sally... (1989) 6. Defending Your Life (1991) 7. Circle of Friends (1995) 8. Mary Poppins (1964) 9. Coal Miner's Daughter (1980) 10a. Eat Drink Man Woman (1994) 10b. The Wedding Banquet (1993) Okay...okay...it's really difficult to pick just 10 films (and, if you notice, my "Top 10" is really "11" films). There are actually several films that I really love that I couldn't include. So, I'm listing them here. Again, these are some personal favorites based on what I like to watch.

Movie Links Internet Movie Database The Internet Movie Database is the greatest resource for movies and television shows on the Internet. You can search by film names, actors, directors, year, and so on. A must for the movie buff. Rotten Tomatoes This is another great Web site for the movie lover. Not only does it offer information about your favorite films, it also provides links to movie reviews from newspapers around the country. This makes it easier for you to make your choices. Mr. Showbiz Mr. Showbiz has some great information and reviews from Hollywood. Be sure to visit Mr. Showbiz's Celebsite.Com for information about your favorite actors. Yahoo! Movies Take part in the process and join people online to discuss your favorite movies. Yahoo! Movies offers entertainment news and information, story summaries, and message boards.
