The Baby Sitters Club

This doll line is based on the popular and best selling Ann M. Martin books about a group of teen age friends who are baby sitters. Amongst their ranks is the club's Japanese-American vice president Claudia Kishi. What I like about her is that she's not a math or computer wizard, nor is she the group's "brain." In fact, she proclaims on the packaging, "I'm not a great student, but art class is terrific."

These are wonderful stories for kids and were eventually translated into a movie.

The Baby Sitters Club Individual Doll

There is, unfortunately, nothing special about this doll. She basically looks like Barbie with dark hair and funky clothes. But, at the same time, there are so few dolls out there for Asian Pacific American children. So, I welcome the addition of another one into the fold.
