Cardcaptors is what you get when you combine Sailor Moon and Pokemon...but, cooler. The stories revolve around a young girl named Sakura who accidentally opened a magic book once owned by a powerful sorcerer named Clow Reed. In ancient times, Clow trapped elemental spirits within cards to protect the world from their havoc. These cards became known as Cardcaptors. So, in opening the book, Sakura released the cards to the world. And so, she has to secretly recapture all the Clow Cards. And, she does so with the help of her friends Li Showron, Meilin Rae, Madison Taylor and a magical bear like creature named Keroberos (or Keros for short).
While the American version does differ in ways from the original Japanese anime, at least they retained some of the Japanese names (unlike Sailor Moon where the names were Anglicized). Anyway, here's what I have so far...

Li Showron (Li with Sword)
Cardcaptors Fashion Dolls
2000, Trendmasters
Cardcaptors
Individual Figure
Li Showron is the direct descendent of the sorcerer Clow Reed. He was originally a rival of Sakura's, but the two have since befriended and work together to recapture the Clow Cards. Like Sakura, Li has magical powers (which he inherited from his ancient ancestor).
As for the figure, it's kind of strange. He's from a line called "Cardcaptors Fashion Doll," but he looks like a bendy toy with clothes. Trendmasters has always impressed me with the amount of work they put in their toys, but these look a little thrown together. I don't know if they're based on a Japanese toy. Li, in my humble opinion, is the best looking of this line. He sports the flowing green robes and hat that he wears in the anime and has a removable sword that he wears on his back.

Sakura Avalon (Summer School Sakura)
Cardcaptors Fashion Dolls
2000, Trendmasters
Cardcaptors
Individual Figure
Sakura is the main character of Cardcaptors. In fact, in Japan, the show is known as Cardcaptor Sakura. While, on the outside, she seems like she's your average, ordinary young girl, she was born with magical powers that allowed her to inadvertently open the ancient Clow book and release the magical Clow Cards. And so, she must catch them all and seal them once again in the Clow book.
This doll comes in two variations of packaging. One comes with her hat off and her accessories near her legs. The other, which is the one I have, comes with her hat on her head with accessories close to her head. Each comes with a little Kero figure. Nothing particularly great about this doll. As I mentioned before, they look mainly like bendy toys with removable clothes.

Mei Lin Rae (Mei Lin)
Cardcaptors Fashion Dolls
2000, Trendmasters
Cardcaptors
Individual Figure
Mei Lin is Li Showron's friend from China who helps Sakura and Li capture the Clow Cards. In some ways, while she is ultimately Sakura's friend, she is also her rival. She has a giant crush on Li and thinks Sakura does as well. Mei Lin, unlike Sakura and Li, doesn't have magical powers, but she does excel at gymnastics and martial arts.
As for the doll, I like this figure best of the female Cardcaptors dolls. Perhaps its because I like her costume better than some of the strange costumes I've seen Sakura in. The outfit is red, white and gold with the yin-yang symbol embroidered on the front. Like the other dolls of this line, she is basically a bendy with removable clothes.
