While it could be said that the Cartoon Network's The Powerpuff Girls is a spoof on Japanese school girl anime, the true Asian representation would be in the form of the sinister mastermind Mojo Jojo. Mojo Jojo is an evil, genius monkey who lives in a volcano in the middle of Townsville. He is also clearly a spoof on the Ming the Merciless/ Fu Manchu Evil Emperor stereotype that was so popular in early film. However, unlike the use of this stereotype in Star Wars: Episode I, Mojo Jojo is done so on purpose to great comic success. Mojo Jojo is my favorite Powerpuff Girl villain.

Mojo Jojo Super Sound Talking Powerpuff Girl Line 1999, Trendmasters The Powerpuff Girls Individual Figure "Oh No! It's the Maestro of Monkey Business!" says the back of the package to the Super Sound Talking Mojo Jojo. This toy comes with Diabolical Dog and removable brain-cap and cap. He also has three phrases that he says when you push his tummy: "Mojo Jojo!," "I will give you command and you will obey them!" and a sinister laugh. This toy is really nicely done.

Mojo Jojo Powerpuff Girl Warner Brother Studio Store Beanies 2000, Warner Brothers Studio Store The Powerpuff Girls Individual Figure The January 2001 issue of Lee's Action Figure News and Toy Review reports that this beanie is hot and hard to find, making him a valuable commodity. And, believe me, I know...it took me awhile to find a Warner Brothers Studio Store with a Mojo Jojo beanie. Lee's also reports there are two tag variations -- one with the Powerpuff Girls flying all over the place and the other one where they're holding hands (I have the flying all over the place). But, I wonder if they have it confused with the Mojo Jojo Plush doll which is similar to the beanie. The difference is that the plush doll has lighter colors and a popped up nose (as opposed to the stitched nose of the beanie).
