The Precious Moments Company is known ceramic sculptures and dolls of little children with large doe eyes, button noses and chubby cheeks. Its Children of the World collection features the same type of children in traditional dress from various countries from around the world, including several Asian countries. I have to say that I find this line rather endearing. There is something rather charming to the design.

Lumen Precious Moments: Children of the World line 2000, Precious Moments Company Individual Figure Lumen is one of the few Filipino representations in toys made by a U.S. company. She stands about nine inches tall and is dressed in a traditional "Maria Clara" dress, which was popular during the Spanish Era of the Philippines history. Complete with butterfly sleeves, matching neck scarf worn over the shoulders and long sweeping dress, this dress is very ornate. Maria Clara is supposed to be the ideal of Philippine beauty and innocence.

Sunisa Precious Moments: Children of the World line 1999, Precious Moments Company Individual Figure Sunisa represents Thailand in the Children of the World collection. Like the other Children of the World, she wears a traditional dress made of a shiny blue and gold. She is barefoot and wears a traditional headdress and a wonderful satin cape.
