Puzzle Place

Puzzle Place was a program produced by Los Angeles PBS station KCET and created by Muppet veteran Kevin Clash. The show was a puppet show that centered around six kids from diverse backgrounds -- Leon Macneal (an African-American boy), Julie Woo (a Chinese-American girl), Skye Nakaiye (a Native American boy), Kiki Flores (a Mexican-American girl), Ben Olafsen (the son of Norwegian/German farmers in South Dakota), Kyle O'Conner (an Irish-American boy) and Jody Silver (a Jewish girl of Lithuanian descent).

Julie Woo was the Chinese American girl on the show and she hailed from California. She was a good role model to Asian-American kids as she did share her experiences growing up with Chinese tradition and family on the show.

Unfortunately, outside of this information, I don't know a great deal about the show...or, much about the toy line. So, if you know, please e-mail me.

UPDATE: According to a visitor to the site named Leslie, "The show was aimed at preschoolers or elementary school age kids, since it dealt with issues such as teasing, sharing, etc. The show also tried to discuss the different cultural issues and customs, without getting too heavy." Thanks, Leslie.

Puzzle Place Comes with the other Puzzle Place characters

This is a nice little set that highlights the multi-cultural cast of Puzzle Place. They're nice likenesses of their puppet counterparts. Other than that, a very simple set.
