Robotech

Robotech hit the American airwaves in the 1980s. While airing in syndication, it ran in several markets through the U.S., most of its cult status was built through video tape rentals. Robotech is an adaptation of the Japanese anime Choujiku Yousai Macross, which revolves around a group of humans who find themselves in a battle against the alien Zentraedi. Ten years prior to the bulk of the story, a giant unstaffed alien space ship (the SDF-1) landed on Earth on South Ataria Island. Since that time, a community developed on and around the ship. When the Zentraedi came to reclaim the ship, a "spacefold" developed and everyone on SDF-1 and South Ataria Island were hurtled across outer space.

Individual Figure

Lynn Minmei is a strange character and one of the few to retain her original ethnicity when Robotech was marketed to the U.S. audience. She was an aspiring singer working in her aunt and uncle's Chinese restaurant when the island was suddenly lifted into and hurtled through outer space. But, she was able to use her talents to boost morale for the Robotech Defense Force. She even won title of "Miss Macross."

The figure itself is really pretty ugly looking with out of proportion body and a bad paint job on the face. She comes with a microphone. The packaging is nicer than the figure itself.
